I have a backend Access database. When a user accessess it from a frontend app, everything is fine. When a second user attempts to access it from a frontend app, he/she get a message that the database is in use. Is there an option that allows multiple users to access the backend simultaneously?

Thanks

Within Tools -> Options (requires a database to be open), click on the Advanced tab and check the setting of the Default Open Mode. Set it to Shared if it isn't already. You will need to set this for all users.

Also, your shared backend must be in a network folder that allows all users to create and delete files. The first user to open a file creates an LDB file which manages record locking. The last person out of the file deletes the LDB file.

Thanks,

I think that will do the trick. You folks are high-speed!
