hi
I have a resource pool and approx 200 projects
linked to this, when project creates its "master project"
i would like to be able to sort the "embedded projects "by deadline but i can only seem to sort them by a field in the row that contains the embedded info icon(hope that makes sense).
If not is it possible to alter what information appears on the embedded info icon line

thanks

You can't sort by deadline since deadline is a task field, not a project field. At the project level it contains "NA".

I do not understand the other part of your question.

hi PDQBach
here goes...
if i open resourcepool which is then embedded into another project along with all its sharer projects .if i go to options and hide "the top lines",then select all, copy, open new empty project, then paste
then one by one indent each project(apart from 1st task in each)then put a deadline value in top line of each i can sort all by deadlinebut this is sooooo long winded is there an easier way(but please dont say sort by finish date as this will not be any good)
I think maybe a macro would do what im after but this is way over my head unless anyone wants to do this for me ;-)
any help would be appreciated
thsnks

Even I <g> know that finish date is not deadline date.

Maybe the field "Outline Level" may be useful to you. I'm not a vba guru, sorry.
