Any Ideas
Thanks

What if I bring in the laptop and connect it to my network and pull the files of a cd from another one on the system?
Would that work??
check if you have c:\windows\options\cabs. If there are win95_xx files in there then 95 is already available to you on your hard disk. If not, create the win95 floppy disks on another machine and install from floppy. Alternatively, try direct cable connect to another machine or add a CD ROM drive.
Personally, I'd just get the network card working and attach to the network.

thanks for the imput guys I will try tonight...will let you know..
alternatively; you could download DUN 1.3 on a diff. system; then use split.exe (I can e-mail it to you if you'd like) to break up the .zip file into diskette-sized pieces to be concatenated back into one once you've loaded them onto the laptop's HDD.....this will work with IEx.x as well; contact me if you need any help.
-Robherc
robherc@netzero.net

*nix installation & program collector/reseller. Contact me if you think you've got one that I don't :)

I emailed your netxero account yesterday but gt returned..
Could you please send those two programs for DOS that will split up win95 or DUN to fit on disks to my other email
OK, Jason.....one idea I just had....all of the files on the CD (idividually) are smalll enough to fitting on a single disk......(about 13 when all is said)

Just go into your win95 directory on the CD & enter xcopy32 *.* a:\ ([enter])
It should prompt you for a new disk each time one is needed....just be sure to label each disk according to the filenames that print out on the screen while it's being written. (xcopy32 is GREAT about printing out this info accurately...for added security, run the command "verify on" before doing your copying...this will ensure that the copies are accurate.

If you still want split & ZEUS; just let me know & I'll see if I can't get them to you somehow (though it'll be marginally harder now that I've got all of my non-destroyed data scattered between media cartridges on 2 different backup devices ;)
-Robherc
robherc@netzero.net

*nix installation & program collector/reseller.
