I received an Access 2000 .mdb file. When i try to open it, a switchboard form is displayed. The menu at the top has disappeared and I have no idea how to get to the design area of this database. If I close the switchboard, I'm left with a blank window. Can someone tell me how to bring up the project window, where I can view the tables, forms and queries... of this db?

Thanks

Try holding down the SHIFT key when you open the database, that should bypass the switchboard and let you into design view.

If that doesn't work, then talk to the database's designer. He probably set some safety locks in place to prevent people from messing with the database's design. Maq [americanflag]
