I need help, I 'm a begginner in PHP, and I tried to use the mail() function in PHP.

I am running Windows Me, I alheady found some examples, but always appear a error message like: " Failed to Connect ". Also, does this function works on Windows plataforms or is only Linux/Unix?

Thanks,

I think you'll need to install sendmail on you windoze box, *nix has it by default. ***************************************

no, you don't need to install anything in windows.

you have to setup the mail params in the php.ini file.

You have to setup
SMTP = SMTP of your ISP
sendmail_from = your e-mail Anikin

What if your ISP is Verizon? Can you just change the SMTP in the php.ini file? I did that and it doesn't work. I have a php site that I am working on (in 'localhost' at the moment), and when I click on a submit button, it's supposed to email me-- instead, it just thinks and never goes through. I am running this on a Windows XP OS, and I have PHP 4.0. Any help would be appreciated.
