How can I transfer to an extension after leaving message

I've installed a NAM at a customer who had a Startalk. They used to dial * in while listening to a greeting or leaving a message to transfer to another extension. Now * exits the system. What am I missing? Appreciate any help. I can't see it in the books.

check the {Return to AA} setting. Change it to Yes if it's marked No.
