how can I trace from log file

Dear all,

everytime I want to trace the source ip of a spam mail in qmail-send log file, I got to read through the log from qmail-smtp, but they have definitly no relation or hints on any session number or timestamp, sometime, they may be mixed up with 2 very closely started smtp connection.

How can I trace back the source ip of a incomcing mail?
