I have a problem. We currently have about 20 Access 97 databases and all the databases are shared systems. We are planning to upgrade a small number of users to Access 2003 to access a new application. We are not currently in a position to upgrade all the users (3000) that are using access 97. My problem is that a number of the databases are used by all the users and I need a method of blocking the 2003 access users from upgrading the 97 databases. They must be blocked automatically from performing the database upgrade. I do not, and will not, rely on the users saying no to an upgrade prompt. Any body have any ideas.

That is exactly what I was looking for. If I might ask, what was the keywords that you used at Microsoft. I have always had trouble with Microsoft's search engine. It never seems to find what I am looking for. Also have a star for your excellent help.

I used Google, not Microsoft. With Microsoft, I find that you need a very good idea of what you want, and you need to use Microsoft Speak, if I may use that term. :)

Keywords: prevent convert database prompt
Note 'prevent' rather than 'stop' always use two syllables where one would do :)
