Hi!

Again an AIX newbie-question:

I try to install the webbased documentation server.
I'm very sure that all needed software-components
are well installed (IBM HTTPServer, docsearch, etc.).

But every try to connect to the server shows the message
"Netscape is unable to locate the server...."

I think, that the needed HTTPServer is not running (I find no process, subsystem or subserver like "http" in the processlists).

IBM internet-documentation says, that I should look into the delivered docs for the webserver. I have nothing about it. I find no docs in the internet.

Perhaps somebody of you has a link for this documentation or a quick tip how to start the IBM HTTPServer on AIX??

Thanx in advance

Hello,
IBM has a website tech support. then find link to documentation and you will find documentation on doc search.

Hi!

mkharris: This was the solution. THANX!

aixat: My problem was that I found a lot of tips how
to install the documentation-server but the authors
thought, that everybody knows the HTTP-server mechanisms.
So the command "apachectl" was missing in the found documentations. :(
