Ok, I will start by saying that I am not an IT expert (I am an operations director of a fairly small (21 User) office, so guess who gets to do all the IT stuff? You got it. Anyway, I need to figure out how to forward port 5222 to an internal IP (which would be our server). I am using this for an IM Client using Jabber.

Esentially, I have local users on a LAN that can use the IM Client very easily as it is run over the LAN. However, I have several users (namely all the other executives)that are offsite and I want to set them up to use the same client. I know that this can be done various ways(VPN, etc) but I want to go the simplest route.

What I need to do is connect the offsite users to the server that is on our LAN. I know that if they connect to the external IP:5222 that I can set the router up to foward all of those connection requests to the servers LAN ip of 192.168.1.13.

My only problem is : How do I set this up on the router. I can get to the router through telnet, and then I do not know the exact syntax to enable the port forwarding.

This sounds simple enough, so can someone please help me with the steps to take? I have searched everywhere I know to find this info on my own, but now I am stuck. Thanks in advance for any help.
