I set the target line to the voicemail system DN, and it goes to General Delivery. I need to be able to get the same access as dialing the Voicemail DN from the set. I want to call a special number that allows me the same access as dialing the vm DN from my set in the office? My goal is to dial 0 while listening to my personal messages and reach the operator? Is it possible.

Thanks

You need to enable the target DN option in CP COS. Once enabled each user assigned to that COS can decide what DN if any that they want callers to go to while listening to their personal greeting when they press 0.

Stay the last DN of your DID range isn't used, assign that DID target Line to the Vmail DN, I do that at every site and then the user just calls that 1 DID number and when it answers hit ** and then DN and then Password.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Open Call Pilot Manager
Click on Auto Attendant
Click on Lines Administration
Select your DID Line,

Answer Mode: Auto Attendant
Table Skillset: Create a Menu or just a simple Company Greeting
Number of Rings: 0

All done..

Press ** To check your messages.

Why waste a DID when you can call ANY number and as soon as you hear a recording (personal or Meridian Mary) hit ** etc?

I have a user who is not happy with entering his extension, since he just calle his extension. He wants the voicemail box to be known based on the DID he called. His old system did it, and so far this one does not. He is the kind of guy who checks his voicemail, and while listening still, wants to zero out to the operation before listening to he final messages. This one is killing me.

Understood. however, this user had to call in the main number to "call his extension". As soon as AA picks up, he can enter ** etc to check vmail. There is no requirement to call one's own extension and wait until VM picks up.

Sounds like the only programming change you NEED to make is between the user's ears....

If there is live answer normally, take that DID and just point it directly to AA (instead of live answer). This way you can bypass the "I don't want to speak with the receptionist yadda yadda" argument, and can also call your work a "value add" so that staff can use this "back door" to skip reception and call who or whatever they want.

It is kind of Dumb to call your own DID number as you know your not there and you need to wait until the Forward no ans transfers to Vmail. I like to waste a DID number and assign the target number to the Vmail DN and get vmail ans on the first ring and then ** DN and then Password. But some people like to listen to the phone ring and annoy there fellow works who have to listen to the phone ring also.

OK, so in short we can't enable auto logon when calling remote? For some users, I am forced to check that box in the Subscribers mailbox. That way the user from his set can just dial feature 981 and hear messages. I like the suggestion for auto attendant, that will be what I do on my next install.

Thank you

Think about it, how would the system know it was him calling the DID number and not someone else?

Good point, and of course I he just wants to not enter his VM number. He is fine with the PIN number. And rest assured, I am only responding to my boss's request. He is convinced he never had to do that. He is most likely confused with calling his Cell Phone Voicemail.

Thank You as always.

That way the user from his set can just dial feature 981 and hear messages." you mean he doesn't complain about having to dial F981, when he could just push one button and get to Vmail?

Boy you sure work for some strange people.

Of course I have a button programed for F-981. I was just pointing out the functionality he is after. And yes, this one as stated above is killing me with requests. Unusual ones.

Thanks
