Is there a way I can stop Win ME from loading unless a password is entered ? I know it asks for a password - but, if you click cancel - it just allows anyone full access anyway ! Is there a freeware programme or something to do this ?

Thanks

Perhaps you may set a Booting Password into the BIOS. If it is possible it depends on the type and Version of the Bios used.

You can use programs like Fortres which renders a computer useless unless you know the correct password. Another way, the way I do it at home, is to go into the BIOS and set the first boot device to something that won't work (not being able to load the computer) and set the second boot device to floppy or CD-ROM depending which you have a boot disk for. Now set a password to enter the BIOS so people cannot undo your settings. Now whenever you turn on your computer you will need a boot disk to boot into Windows. This method works fine with people that do not know too much about computers. Good luck. --Sapient2003 - sapient@sapient2003.com
