How can I secure my RedHat 7.1 server from attacks

Hello all,

How can I go about securing my linux server (Redhat 7.1) from outside attacks.

My system is connected to the internet 24/7.

It has 2 nic cards. Supports the network and internet sharing using the rc.firewall.

Any tips on securing the server would be helpfull.
