We have a demo used Cisco Pix 501 series. Everything works just fine, exept the telnet password. We have tried to reset the firewall, but it seems like it resets everything but not the telnet password. To change the password you need the old one. So we are kind of stuck! Is it any one out there with a solution?

Access the PIX through the console port, go to configuration mode and type "passwd <new-password>" then write to mem and that should be all.

Set password for Telnet access to the PIX Firewall console.
{password | passwd} password [encrypted]
clear {password | passwd}
show {password | passwd}

You might try the default PIX telnet password which is "cisco".

Good Luck,
