Please bear with me on this one. My mom has an printer problem and she is running Win 98SE and I am 300 miles away running XP Pro and trying to help her over the phone...LOL

Mom's Epson USB printer took a crap and she got a HP DJ3600 USB printer. She just did a remove under printers and tossed the Epson. But the "Epson Port" is still listed in device mgr and is the default port for the HP. I had her remove it in device mgr and it came right back after a re-boot. I had her look under add/remove programs for anything "epson" but nothing is there.

I know that there will be a line in the win.ini but does anyone know where in the reg I can go to get rid of the "Epson Port" and get the ol' USB back? Or do I need to get the USB Drivers from Microsoft?

Thanks,

Back up the Registry, then open the Registry Editor, click on Edit/Find, type epson in the box, click 'Find Next', after deleting an Epson key or value press the F3 key to continue the search, close Regedit after it says that it's finished searching, reopen Regiedit and repeat the process to remove any Epson stragglers.

I was saving that as a last resort. I will try to PC anywhere tonight. If I can't get rid of that thing I will hack the Reg and take the long approach.

Thanks,

Go to "add/remove" and remove the Epson drivers. They are put there in case you have to reinstall the printer.
