Hello everyone.

How can I log the login time for each user in a log file that can be reported to the management on the weekly basis?

Any idea?
Here is the info.:
Running Novell 4.11 and NT 4.0 workstation.
Users login using the novell client.

Thank you for your help.

Regards,
Sina

You're really in the realms of audit software here. However, you can use the ODBC driver for NDS to pull off the last logged in time for users. Unfortunately, this will be the last time the user logged in and not how often and for how long.

The ODBC driver for NDS can be found on the Novell website and can be used in conjunction with MS Excel. It's a manual process.

there's also auditcon.exe to set up the rudimentary auditing that Netware offers. Get the TID 10013296 which can tell you about the auditing that comes with Netware JL Filler,Wilton Public Schools, Wilton CT

If this sounds like marketing, I apologize. But we have a product called MoNET that tracks login and logouts. You can get a 30-day eval at
If all you need are login times (not logout) you add commands to your login script to write the user name and time to a text file. This is easier if you are already exiting your login script to a batch file. Otherwise you could use the # command to execute some simple echo statements whose output is redirected to a text file.
