How can I read the typeface name from a .ttf file 1

Hi,
I want to read the name of the typeface from a True Type file. Can anyone help me?

Just by looking into the file with a binary shower i see that there is names and description in RTF-format in the very header of the .TTF file.

There must be a description of a .TTF file somewhere, look for it.
