How can I "link" sub-tasks that are scheduled for the same time?

I'm a chef and am using Project to plan catering events. For each menu item, I've scheduled sub-tasks for each step of the preparation. One problem I'm having is getting my cooks to group the same sub-tasks if they appear in multiple tasks during the same time period. For example:

I have two salads that both require lettuce to be cleaned and washed on Day 1. It's the same type of lettuce (and washing method) for both salads, but different amounts are used and this difference is noted in the sub-task. What I need is a visual cue that reminds the cooks that they should wash all the lettuce at once, even though it appears as a sub-task in two different places. I tried linking the two sub-tasks but I error out based on scheduling, i.e. they can't be linked and occur at the same time.

Is there any way I can annotate these sub-tasks so that my cooks can mentally group them together?

Thanks!

There are all sorts of ways to link tasks so let's assume you have already linked them.

Double-click on the link itself and you'll get a popup box. In the popup, change the type from Finish-to-Start to Start-to-Start.
