How can I program a logic device with the tool ispLEVER from Lattice?

Hello everybody!
I am working on a project with VHDL.
I am using the ispLEVER software from Lattice.
The main programs are the ispLEVER Project Navigator
and the ispVMSystem.
I tried to get through all the manuals, but it is
not user-friendly.
Maybe you can tell me how to get through a complete
design flow from writing the vhdl-code, compiling it ...
and especially how to program the device with
ispVMSystem!
