Hi,

My company has got a FoxPro CRM database that contains various tables. The two tables of interest are: the Customer table and the Products table.
After some of this information has been processed, it needs to be passed across to another database (written in CTOL with VI scripts)for another stage of processing.

How can I make these two databases communicate with each other?

Please, any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and regards,

Francis (f_masinde@hi-lo.co.uk)

What version of FoxPro? I think starting at VFP 6 you can use Automation, and older versions definitely support DDE. You can use ODBC to connect the 2 and VFP 7 has an OLE DB provider. Also VFP 7 allows for XML with CursorToXML. VFP 7 also allows you to act as a COM provider.

I think I threw out enough buzzwords to satisfy my daily need for buzzwords.

A simple way to do it is just dump the Fox tables to text file and import them with your other application. Its not as fancy as all the buzzwords, but its quick and easy if you can import fixed length or delimited files with your second app.
