sorry, I don´t giv you some datails...

I know Crystal Reports opens your owns Connection with a DataBase, but what I really need to know is if I can open a connection with a DataBase like Oracle in VB and pass it to myreport.rpt, did you get it?

Version, Crystal Reports 8.0

What type of connection? Any type, since it been with a Database!

I think you didn´t get it!!

I´ve just seen this topic, I´m looking for my question for 5 days in the internet, actually I think I took a look over whole internet. ;)

What I wanna know is to pass a database connection (already open) to myreport.rpt.

I really think this doesn´t have a solution, but I will look one more day in the internet and after that I will open a case with Seagate Crystal Reports.

thanks,

Luiz Gustavo!

What type of connection? ADO, RDO, ODBC? Something else?

ADO Connection!

I believe there´s no solution to the way I would like to solve this problem!

now, I´m studying to do a report using ttx, and pass a Recordset to it, and I found another question, that to me is more important, I´m looking for documentation about SetPrivateData, I would like to know if when I pass a Recordset to my myreport.rpt the Crystal Reports just point to the memory area where my recordset is, or it copy de memory?

thanks!

There are two ways you can work with ADO. Crystal Reports can query the data and get back an ADO record set or you can generate the ADO yourself and pass the record set to the RDC. There is a Crystal Reports article on my web site that may help you and examples of both methods in my book.

Give me the name of the article, please!

thanks!
