Hi chaya770
I don't think you can open a .pdf file in Quark. You would need Adobe Acrobat full program to open and change a .pdf file.
However you can draw a picture box and "Get Picture" of a .pdf file.
When you select the .pdf file there will then be a window for pdf import and if there are multiple pages in the pdf document you can select which page you want to appear in the picture box.
Hope this helps

Hi chaya770
I might have jumped the gun.
You are using Quark 7, I don't know about that, I am using Quark 6.52 on the Mac with osx and and what I described works with that.
So I don't know if Quark 7 has provision for opening .pdf or not.

QuarkXPress, no matter what version, will not open a PDF file. It will only place it as a graphic.
Even that is not perfect. There are some types of PDF that QuarkXPress will not accept. In that case, you should convert the PDF file to a EPS file and place that in QuarkXPress.
