Hello all,

I need to move inetpub folder from drive c: to drive e: in IIS 6.0

Can you help please?

Thanks in advanced!

Aldi

That's a fairly easy move.

1. Copy the folder.
2. Reconfigure all IIS sites to use the new location.
3. Do an IIS reset to release all file handles on the C drive
4. Remove the old folder.

That script is doing the same thing that I typed out. It's just a script instead of doing it manually.

Thanks Denny!

Those instructions are kind of intimidating. My thought was that I needed to run the script to be able to run asp.net and cgi applications, and I thought that your instructions applied only for static websites.

Thanks a lot I really appreciate your help.

Nope, when you do it manually, all of your NTFS permissions will remain, as will the settings in IIS since you are just changing the folders, not removing the site and recreating it.
