I am a third year electronics engineering student from India. We are basically taught all hardware oriented stuff. But i find a lot of problem with assembly language programming. The first thing i want to know is how do i get comfortable with it ?
Any suggested readings ? How can i help myself by doing better? I know that a lot of practise can only make things easy, but i also need something to start with? All I need is the initial boost & then i think things will be easier. Kindly help me realise this.
Thank You

Hi my friend
Do you know how to ride bicycles, if yes, do you remember how you got yourself comfortable with it. Apply the same theory.
Read thread272-66477 for a wonderful book (in my opinion at least). Good luck

I know a book, written by TomSwann about TurboAssembler. Is a very good book. John Fill

The only reccomendation I can give you is to just do it! Find a little program that you maybe wrote in a high level language (i.e. previous school assignments in, say FORTRAN or Pascal), and try to do it in assembler. The key to getting comfortable with assembler is the same as with any language; assembler just takes a little more patience because the frustration factor is higher. But then, the frustration just makes it that much more interesting to me.
