How can I make/install a VB program as a NT service ?

That all needs to be together on your browser address line. I think the text editor in here splits it up.

Probably the best thing to do is have the program run in the system tray. If you choose to do it that way I can provide you with a sample program on how to do that (I'll turn on email notification for this thread so I'll know if you respond).

It's on it's way! If anyone out there has FTP space and wouldn't mind hosting this I wouldn't be averse to the idea of posting this where everyone can get to it that is interested. Even if you don't want to use the code exactly as it is now it's a pretty good guide on how to run stuff in the System Tray (cut and paste, no time to waste!).
