I want to make a clean line around a vector drawing i've done, and i need it the same thickness all over. Anyone have an idea how this can be accomplished and if i've even phrased my query well enough to be understood?

To do this 'old school', you can make a copy of your art and then use the pathfinder palette to unify everything into one closed shape. Position that shape in the background behind your original art and then apply a stroke of any width.

With the latest releases you may find similar success with styles.
