Is there anyway I can find out if my somewhat older Abit kt7a motherboard (link to specs - will support a large 200GB hard drive? I'd like to know if I'll need to upgrade my MB before I go and purchase the hard drive, as I will have to factor in that cost. Or am I going to have to bite the bullet and find out the hard way? Thanks for your suggestions in advance.

How can I know if my abit kt7a MB will recognize a WD 200GB HD?

If you read the bios revision history off that page you posted, it says revision 7N included support for 137GB and larger disks (so probably ok with 200GB if you flash with that or latest bios (A9)). Have you tried contacting Abit (I've found most companies will respond to a polite email requesting this sort of information).
