I installed an Iomega Zip 100 (Atapi)on NT 4.0 machine and when booted showed up as "B" drive which is fine. Clicked on "Removable drive B" to copy files and got this msg: "B:\ is not accessible. Volume doesn't contain a recognised file system. Please make sure all file system drives are loaded." R-click on drive and "Format" but nothing happens. Thought I would run the Iomega CD and window where I choose which programmes to install has the top line greyed out "Drivers & something (must be installed)" I continue on and get error msg "shortcts.dll could not be found in specified path c:\winnt\system32." I searched and found that file and ran install again and got the same message only with "ioReady.dll" couldn't be found. What am I doing wrong. I'm not at all familiar with NT4. Any help will be appreciated................Nev

Hummm... Is it an External or Internal drive?
It might have been installed incorrectly.
Try these steps:

External: Unplug the drive from the computer.

Internal/External: Try downloading the latest files for your ZIP drive (make sure it's designed for NT 4.0)

Internal/External: Uninstall the Iomega ZIP drivers
External: Reboot the computer
External: Plug in the ZIP Drive (after reboot)
Internal/External: Reinstall the new drivers, and reboot.

If you still get the same error then it could be that you may not have Administrator rights for NT. If so, run your computer in Administrator mode.

I hope this helps

Hi Mudassar,
Thanks for ther reply. Was internal (Atapi) on old FX board. Downloaded a fix from Microsoft and is now working happily. Is known problem with NT4 as detects incorrectly as floppy drive and not IDE device (removable drive).
Ta again......Nev
