how can i install ie5 and have ie6 too

You need to install it on a different drive AFAIK!

Maybe you need to partition your hard drive. ??(not familiar with these things)

Nope it is possible.

You can keep multiple versions of Internet Explorer for Mac on the same machine in different folders. IE for Windows is a bit trickier. Before version 5, it wasn't possible to have multiple versions running on the same computer. With IE5, Microsoft introduced "compatibility mode", which allows you to view a Web page with versions 4 and 5. Microsoft has full details online at

I searched through the MS support discussions and found these two relevant comments::

1. Installing IE5 with IE6 already installed:
"Only by setting up a dual-boot system. You cannot install 2 versions of IE on one partition; only 1 version per install of Windows is allowed"

2."IE5 has a "side by side" feature which allows you to run other versions with it." No good for your case though.

I have both running on my PC. No dual boot. Both on the same drives. I don't know why it works I guess.

I had 5 first, then installed 6 and managed to get it into its own folder. Worked fine.

Maybe remove them both and install 5 first?
