you have to be an administrator on your computer because it changes registry settings and you have to have administrator level permissions to do so.

hey guys how do you go about doing this task. I wanna install AutoCAD 2000 on my new pc which has Win XP.

Rish

Please pardon my ignorance, but could someone provide a bit of a proceedure.

When I try to load my CD, I get the message, "...designed to support Win'95, 98, and NT operating systems...not WinXP." I am paraphrasing of course.

And help you could provide would be much appreciated.

Try this:

Make a shortcut on the desktop to the setup.exe file on the CD. Right-click on the shortcut and open the Program Compatability tab. Choose Win95 or NT and run the shortcut.

This fools the setup into thinking you are running Win95 or NT.

Everything should work fine after this.

Hope this helps,
