Dear all,

I have been learning Adobe Illustrator 10 for the past three weeks. I am using this program to draft technical figures, mostly figures for engineers, so I need to use non-ASCII characters such as Lambda, Epsilon, Alpha, etc.. I would like to know if is there a keystroke in illustrator to these kinds of symbols?. I already tried to insert them from the Character Map, but it does not work.

I will appreciate your help.

Instead of 'inserting' from Character Map, note the key combination (ex: 'alt-0174') and enter this directly in Illustrator.

If this does not work, you may have a font problem where the extended characters are not available. Try another font.

The charactors you mention aren't really standard in most typefaces, so you may need to use something like Symbol for these special cases.

Hi there,

Thank you guys, I appreciate your suggestions.
