I have ben asked to increment the minute component of a date column by one. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to accomplish this ? We are using Oracle 8i.

Number constants added (or subtracted) to dates are interpreded as days, so anyDate+1 is the day after anyDate. A day has 1440 (=24*60) minutes. Same if you'd like to add 1 hour - would be anyDate+1/24.

sadly, I have done it so often in "end date"s I have memorized that 86399/86400 added to a date makes it 11:59:59 at night

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.
