How can I increase the speed while do a "cp"

If they are internal hdisks, but not in the same filesystem.
Now I wanna copy the data (more than 100G) from /data to /backup.
How can I increase the speed while coping as possible?
Do striping? or ?

You may need to increase the LTG size for example! Or use direct IO! Sequential or Random write might be used as well! it depends on what exactly want to do!
