Hi all,

I have some Cisco routers ( such as Cisco 2514, 3600, 4000 ) and manual guides coming along with them, but these manual guides don't thell maximum speed of WAN serial interfaces. Previously, I have read a few other Cisco product references, and I found out that some kinds of interfaces are told as low speed or high speed, but for the other, they don't mention about maximum speed. So I wonder whether how I can identify the maximum speed of these serial interfaces, and what router commands I can use.

Any help would be appreciated.

what cards had been inslalled in your routers???

you can issue the command:

Show inter serialx

where x is your serial interface number and observed for the figure on the B.W.

or check your model number with your product catalog.

hope this will help

Router(config)#int ser 0
Router(config-if)#band
Router(config-if)#bandwidth ?
<1-10000000> Bandwidth in kilobits

Router(config-if)#int fa 0
Router(config-if)#band
Router(config-if)#bandwidth ?
<1-10000000> Bandwidth in kilobits

AS you can see the bandwidth can be set very high. This will depend on the application you choose. Jeter@LasVegas.com
