Hi everyone,

How can I have a graphics in the back ground of xterm?

I know that using kde you can have a pic in the background of an xterminal, but I'm not using kde and just wanted to know how to go about doing this?

thank you all.

Hi,

Well, if you are using gnome then try gnome-terminal instead of xterm. It has a fairly self-explanatory 'preferences' setting window under the 'settings' menu. Does images as backgrounds, transparency, etc.

Also look at aterm (from afterstep window manager) --> and Eterm (which originally came with the enlightenment window manager) --> . xterm is pretty basic by comparison to any of these.

Regards
