how can i get weekly totals

hi
i need a bit of help on this. i am creating a quality database and i have to generate reports by the month and the week, i have the monthky report sorted out but i cant get it to sum for the week.
there is a list of parts and the parts could be made on both shifts but at the moment when i get it to sum by the week it gives me each part and what was made but it wont add them together
if any onew has any ideas i would be throughly greatful

In a summary query pull the date field down and use Sort: DatePart("w",[MyDateField]) as one of the query columns. For the criterion in that column put [Enter the week desired (1-52) ]. It will prompt for the week when you run it and give you just the dates for that week. Use count function on the parts column to see how many were made in that week.
