Hi everyone,

Hope you can help me. I have been sent a piece of work it is a man and I want to change the colours of his clothes. The file was sent as an eps to me. Usually it opens up in photoshop, I save it as an illustrator file. Once I have done this I just click on the subject and everything is highlighted and I just change any part of him to a different colour. This time however, there is a blue box around him and I cant just click on him, when I do nothing happens. If I try to pull on the box with the mouse it distorts him. Have tried to do it on my own but I just cant and would appreciate any advice.

Look forward to hearing from anyone who could advise me.

Many thanks

Check your layers, you can select what color the layer is. open your layer table and see if there is a couple layer and if one is blue.

Tina:

Sounds to me like this is the old "I'll send you an eps" trick, where somebody saved a jpeg or other bitmap format embedded in an eps. It will not magically become a vector image (which is what you were expecting)...

You could try to use the "Live Trace" feature if you have CS2, to make a vector image from the raster image.

Read up on the feature in the Help files... If you still get stuck, check back here.
