How can I get Director to stop renaming files? 1

Every time I import a group of graphic files Director renames them and it's driving me crazy(not a long ride at least). For instance I imported a grooup of jpgs with sequential names from slide01 to slide48 and I get names like vdbs~9. Can anyone tell me how please? Thanks in advance.

Director shouldn't rename file name (if the file name is very long it may truncate). I'm not sure if this works, but try importing JPEG series by drag & drop into the Cast window and see what happens.

Thanks, I'll try it. Are there any characters that Director has a problem with that you know of?

Characters like \ / : * ? &quot; < > | should be avoided. I would stick to alphanumeric & underscore only.

OK, thanks for your help. I think that may have been part of my problem. The recording studio named all of the audio files with a hyphen. I've now set up a naming convention with them for all future work. Have a great day.
