A prompt response is highly appriciated.
I am using Series7 installation. The Powerplay Enterprise server and Transformer are installed on a QUAD Processor, 4GB RAM NT Machine. We (developers) do not have physical access to this server(We can not have something like PC Anywhere to administer this server). All we can have is some shared directories on this server.
We want to use processor power and memory of this server(not the client nachines) to create cubes. How can we instantiate Transformer on the server which uses "server resources only" to build cubes. All mdl files have been copied on the server. By what means can this be achieved?
Please help.
Cogprog.

You can build cognos cubes by running powerplay transformer in batch mode (ie. having all the cubes to be built and the actual build commands contained in a single .bat file). If you could find a way to kick off a bat file on the server, this may solve your problem.

We do this at the moment using DataStage (our ETL tool) - We run the client version of this locally, and have a batch which contains code that executes a bat file on the server datastage is running on.
