I know that there's a way to force a formula to return an error such as #N/A if it matches certain criteria.

I want to do this so that I can plot graphs that miss a point out rather than shooting down to the x axis where there is no data.

Does anyone know how to force an error or any other ways of forcing a chart to miss out zero points?

By the way - I'm talking about Excel here - forgot to mention that

To force an erorr:
=if(test=true,#N/A,other result)

It is important that #N/A is used WITHOUT quotes as with quotes, it just beconmes text

Another way to miss zeros is to replace with blanks
