How can I fix grayed-out attachment items in Outlook Express ? 1

When I clicked on the attachment symbol in my received email in Outlook Express ( v6.00.2800.1160 , WinXP SP1) ), I saw all the attachments were grayed-out . As a result, I could not save or read the attachments. This occured systematically with all files, graphic or text files. I then installed "Incredimail" ,which imports from Outlook Express, to find out if the same problem occured. To my surprise, and everything is O.K in Incredimail. It's driving me nuts ! Please advise how to fix this problem.

Howdy:

Start OE and go to Tools>Options>Security..

Change virus protection from "Restricted" to "Internet".. Then, uncheck the "Do Not Allow Attachments, etc..."

Apply and okay out.
