How can I find the last record in a group 1

The foll is the data in my table.
Emp Name code Dept PrStatus Date
Raj 1 Accounts P 10/1/2003
Raj 1 Accounts A 10/2/2003
Suresh 2 Administration A 10/1/2003

I require the prStatus of each employee on the last day of the report.I want this value in the group header as I require only the summarized report. Is this possible? I am using Crystal Reports 8.5 with Access 2000.

For Crystal 8.5, you can group by Emp Name. If you then use [Sort Records] under report and select date, you could make it ascending and have the last date in the footer. Or descending and have date in the header. You could also use a summary total or a running total to get the maximum for date.

Anything you don't want can be hidden, leaving you with a summary.
