How can I export dir permisions on my DATA dir? I want to export all subdirectory permisions too.. has any one done this? I am trying to re-create perms on a Windows file server. Any suggestions or help would be great.
LOL, you're a funny guy Marvin. Since MS doesn't even do some of the permission arrangements Netware allows, the rights have to be re-structured. Personally, I wouldn't trust ANY tool to do this job automatically. I've had to move directories in my filesystems to get permissions to flow in a manner I can understand.
Try using Trustbar.nlm (TID10066145) It will create an xml report of all trustee perms on a volume by volume basis. It's helping me somewhat.

Well... ahem. At one time, Microsoft had a guide for "5 easy steps to Migrate Netware to Windows". With a service as critical as file system permissions, I would just assume Microsoft would include this in their toolset. Are you saying that Microsoft doesn't consider file permissions migration as being important? <GASP!!!>
Step 1: Sacrifice a chicken.
Step 2: Note all current file system permissions.
Step 3: Sacrifice a goat.
Step 4: Strip all semblance of organization out of your new Home directory structure.
Step 5: Look to the sky with arms held wide and ask "Why, God, why!"
Easy.
(Can you tell I'm a little bitter?)
