Hey, I found some pics online that had a verry nice/intersting style background image, I copied a small portion and uploaded it here: My question is, how can I create a similar wallpaper like this?? I just want to know how to do the red/black portion, and not the dragon...any ideas??
Thanks a bunch...[smile] Forget the Nobel Peace prize, I just want to take over the world!! [hammer]

Drag and drop the URL into the address bar and then it works...or, copy and paste and then it works... Forget the Nobel Peace prize, I just want to take over the world!! [hammer]

jimoblak, thanks I had no idea...on my PC the link worked fine, so I thought that it would work for everyone else.
Thanks...

It's difficult to see what source images were used. Are you talking about the lighting/shadow effect? There is probably an adjustement layer involved to get the color right. Then it appears to be a distorted cloud effect with a motion blur, probably on a new layer with a multiply blending mode. Some of it seems to be unaffected by the blur, though, so there could be some masking at work too... just a guess though, I don't have photoshop on this computer to try it out.

blueark,

The best way to do a combination of filters, ie: clouds and the blur only in certain spots is by using snapshots and the history brush.

guju,

Looks like that image is a wood grain that is low contrast and then turned red. Then there is an overlay of angled clouds, and a motion blur, then it looks like the clouds have had the magic wand taken to it and had some chunks taken out and blended in, then a final lighting effects added to it.

Hope this helps!
