Well, I thought it was too good to be true, and I was right. So, How can I delete the ldb file, without getting the error that it is in use and can't be deleted? <p>John Vogel<br><a href=mailto:john@computerwiz.net>john@computerwiz.net</a><br><a href=

Make sure ALL users are off the system. The LDB file will exist as long as some one has the database open. With Access 97 the LDB is deleted automatically when the last user logs out.

I am wondering if there is any way of deleteing while users are still on the system. If I do this (I am told) that would kick everyone off the database.

I was just reading the post by DiscoDuane. He made reference to <A HREF=" TARGET="_new"> - I checked it out and found a download for an &quot;Access97 Administrator&quot; add-in. Have not used it but noticed that it tells you which users have the database open. Thought this might help you.<br>

Access uses the LDB file to keep track of who is doing what. Deleteing the file while people are logged in would NOT be a good idea.

I disagree, bitbrain, all the ldb file seems to show is what computer/user is logged in. I don't believe it would hurt anything. However, I think I figured out an alternative method for updating our database while concurrent activity is going on, without actually having to kick anyone out. <p>John Vogel<br><a href=mailto:john@computerwiz.net>john@computerwiz.net</a><br><a href=If you are interested in working on a very worthwhile Christian web project, please email me at<br>
