I have the keycodes but can't get my system to take them. I want to create the download envelope and try that

Which BCM and Rls # are you talking about?

Ways to load depending on software:
Upload LIC file via Element Manager
Maul Entry via Element Manager
Enter key code via F9*8 on telset

To make an LIC file open Notepad

Put in the info you have from the envelope
Example:

SystemId: 0019F1EG7A4C
Sequence: 1
KeyType: 2
# IP Client seat
218 2
# VM seat
202 8
# Int Digital Sets
117 8
# Int Analog Sets
116 2
# Int Analog Trunk
115 4
KeyCode:
861411412758240705137124

Save it as 0019F1EG7A4C_01.lic
the 01 is your Sequence number

Now upload it.

curlycord,

# VM seat
202 6
# Int Digital Sets
117 8

KeyType: 2
# VM seat
202 2
KeyCode:
327082120067499571550856

Something seems wrong to me about the original vs new.

How are you going from more licenses to less?

I'm trying to add the 2 mailboxes.

I'm sorry if I'm confused about anything or telling you things you may already know BUT...

There are "keycodes" and "license files".

The keycodes are codes that specifically add features or seats to your system. This is what you have bought.
The license file is what you load into your BCM50 to tell the system what you are authorized for.
The license file is the SUM TOTAL of all the keycodes ever applied to your BCM's system ID.

Applying a keycode to your system ID is done through the "KRS" which is something only Avaya authorized people have access to. So to get a license file that includes the seats you just bought will require working through a vendor to apply the keycode in KRS. Once the vendor applies the keycode to your SYSID the KRS will spit out a new license file with all the authorized features and seats your system is entitled to.

Doing this in KRS is not something that can be done by an end-user. It needs to be an Avaya authorized person with rights to KRS. There are a few people on this board that can do that, but not me.

The reason I say your new license looks wrong is because it is missing all the features/seats that are in your original.

For example, assuming you are just adding 2 VM seats to your existing system, then your license file should look like this.

Code:
SystemId: 0011F9E8C934
Sequence: 3
KeyType: 2
# IP Client seat
218 2
# VM seat
202 8
# Int Digital Sets
117 8
# Int Analog Trunk
115 4
KeyCode:327082120067499571550856

Sorry, I mean it should look like this (SEQUENCE: 4)

Code:
SystemId: 0011F9E8C934
Sequence: 4
KeyType: 2
# IP Client seat
218 2
# VM seat
202 8
# Int Digital Sets
117 8
# Int Analog Trunk
115 4
KeyCode:327082120067499571550856

I believe I see my my problem. I have to include the previous license information and increase the mailbox seats to 8 from 6. And add my new keycode.

Code:
SystemId: 0011F9E8C934
Sequence: 4
KeyType: 2
# IP Client seat
218 2
# VM seat
202 8
# Int Digital Sets
117 8
# Int Analog Trunk
115 4
KeyCode:
327082120067499571550856

If you do that, then it should look something like this. I forgot to but a line-break on the lic file as well. (I'm not very talented at this.)

This can happen when a license file is not registered in the KRS, often times due to a license file being migrated to another system ID. But your new license file does say sequence 4, so that's really odd. If you applied the new license file you would have nothing but 2 mailboxes and the BCM50 would be a door stop. As snd1234 wrote your new license file should include all previous features plus the 2 new mailboxes. I'd go back to whoever generated the new license file to resolve this problem.

In KSR the Envelope is info only, the vendor should have downloaded the LIC file as well.
