How can I copy a Publisher 2007 page into another pub document?

A client sent me some .pub files which seem to have some weird problem. Publisher will let me open and edit them, but whenever I try to save them as a pub file, it says that my disk is full (I've tried several hard/flash disks and that is not the problem, of course, and the files are not copy protected or anything). In fact, I can export them as a PDF file, for example, but not as a Publisher 2007, 2000 or 98 file, and PDF is just not an option because I can't edit them.

This would not be a problem if I could just copy a page from a "damaged" document and paste it into a blank document. However, selecting all the elements in a page (text + graphics), either manually or using the edit>select all option does not work as I expected. When I try to paste this into another document the layout is completely gone, as are most of the elements in the page. I've also tried to merge two of my documents into a new one to see if that solves the problem, but the programme ( simply crashes.

So the question is, how can I copy a Publisher 2007 page into another .pub document?

Thank you very much.

Hi Louispub,
I think that the problem that you have with regards not being able to save it (disk full error) is a known problem. See:
Unfortunately they say that in the article the way to solve it is to cut and paste into another document, which leads to your second problem.

Have you tried: selecting everything, grouping everything together, copying, pasting into a new pub file, and ungrouping?

Marc

Thank you, Marc. Unfortunately, if I do that Publisher warns me about Windows being low on memory, and then it just crashes.

Anyway, I've decided to edit the pub files one by one and export them as pdf. If I spot a mistake after the conversion, I just edit the pdf directly using Nitro PDF (much less flexible than Publisher, but at least it lets me make some minor changes to the text).
