Hi,

How can I connect in Sun via Console? Because the Sun Ultra 5 that I used appear message error in the boot process.
"Keyboard not present. Using TTYA to input and output."

You will need to connect a "console" (dumb terminal, nts, or other serial device (Tera Term or Hyperterm serial access for windows). Normally the settings are9600 8 None 1.

You will need to make sure you have the right serial cable as well (null-modem I think). Not your standard modem serial cable.

The message "keyboard not present, using TTYA to input and output" ISN'T an error. It means there is not a keyboard connected. The system will boot up and you can access it from the network.

Normally server doesn't have a keyboard or graphic head connected.

You can connect a dumb terminal or lap top to the serial port.

Dumb terminal (VT100, etc.)

DB25 (VT100) Serial port DB-25

pin 2 pin 3
pin 3 pin 2
pin 7 pin 7

Laptop (use hyperterm 8 databits, 1 parity, 1 stop/start
Xon/Xoff)

DB9 Serial port DB-25

pin 2 pin 3
pin 3 pin 2
pin 5 pin 7
