Is it possible to store my own variable in one of the Apache config files, so that later I can display this value in my SSI pages using the echo directive?

I am new to Apache and come from an IIS background.

Cheers in advance.

I want to store string containing the name of the website.

I want to display this string in my pages using the echo directive.

I have thought of another way to do this using an include file but it would be neater to be able to reference a variable that is cached on the server.

My code to echo would look some thing like this:

Code:
<title><!--#echo var=&quot;MyVariable&quot; --></title>

Cheers in advance,

Hi mate,

I have no idea how to do it.

Why do you think this would be neater? Don't take this the wrong way but I really don't see the logic here. If it is the website name you would be as well either just adding it seperatly to the pages or using an include file.

Hope this helps Wullie
