Hi all,

How can I clear the error 1117, The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error???

by mistake I inserted a CD-RW disc on my CD-ROM and I get an error, since then the unit is not working, empty or with any kind of CD (music, data, ...) loaded I get the error...

If your CD-ROM drive is an IDE, power down the system. Unplug the ribbon cable for the CD-ROM drive. Connect the ribbon cable back again. Re-boot the machine. Uninstall your CD-ROM device driver and add it back again. Re-boot your machine and check CMOS to make sure it is recognizing the drive. You should be OK!
